SuiteApp · CostLens

Know your margins.
See how old your inventory is.

CostLens rebuilds landed cost and inventory age from the general ledger itself, receipt by receipt and layer by layer, so the margin you report is the margin that actually posted.

Freight and duty stay attached to the cost layer they landed in. Every figure drills to the receipts behind it.

CostLens is patent-pending technology developed by YTBE, Inc.

Why CostLens

Cost detail NetSuite holds but does not show you in one place.

GL-anchoredEvery number traces to a postingCost layers are derived from the accounting lines that actually posted, not from an estimate and not from a running average. Where a figure cannot be tied to the ledger, CostLens flags the line instead of smoothing it over.
Landed cost, kept wholeFreight and duty stay in the layerWhat a receipt cost to get here stays attached to the surviving units of that receipt, location by location, so margin is not flattered by costs that were booked somewhere else.
Age, layer by layerSee how old every layer isAsk what you are holding, how old it is and what it is still worth today, and get the receipts behind every line rather than just the total.

How it is built

Cost layers built from the accounting lines that posted.

no estimation, no averaging.

Some transactions move units without posting any inventory value at all. A standalone customer return is the usual culprit. CostLens flags those lines instead of inventing a basis for them, and every audit run reports its own exceptions rather than absorbing them into the total.

One report across the whole warehouse: what you are holding, how old it is, what it is still worth on the books, and the receipts behind every line.

Period margin that ties to the general ledger

Revenue and cost of goods for any period, by customer or by order, all the way down to the invoice line and everything that went into its cost.

CostLens questions

The things people ask before the first call.

Does this replace NetSuite's costing?

No. CostLens reads what NetSuite posted and reconstructs the detail behind it: which layers a shipment consumed, what freight and duty were sitting in them, and how that rolls up to margin. Your costing method stays exactly as it is.

How far can I drill?

From a period margin figure to the customer or the order, to the invoice line, to the receipts that supplied it, and to the freight and duty inside those receipts.

How is the age of my stock worked out?

From the date each receipt landed, layer by layer, by item and by location, with buckets you set yourself. Every row drills to the receipts that make it up.

What happens when a transaction posts no inventory value?

It is flagged, not estimated. Certain standalone customer returns, for instance, move units without an asset-side posting. CostLens reports those as exceptions, so you can see which lines have no inventory posting.
